Young And The Restless (Y&R) and Bold And The Beautiful (B&B) stars are paying tribute to the soaps’ co-creator Lee Phillip Bell. The soap icon died on February 25 at the age of 91.
“Lee Phillip Bell was an extraordinary, extraordinary woman,” Greg Rikaart, who plays Kevin Fisher on Y&R, posted on Twitter. “She was smart, trailblazing, dignified and lovely as could be. RIP.”
B&B’s Scott Clifton, who plays Liam Spencer, also posted his thoughts on Twitter. “On a day like this, and for a woman like her, there is an emotional symmetry we all feel—between the deep sadness of loss, and the piercing gratitude for what she’s bequeathed to us: hope, love, and a thousand adventures that can never be taken away. Lee Bell made us all rich.”

“You carried yourself with poise. You blazed a trail that bettered the lives of millions,” Daniel Goddard, ex Cane Ashby on Y&R, said. “And now you are at rest with your one true love. #RIPLeePhillipBell words can not express the respect I have for you.”
Many fans were also quick to pay tribute to the Y&R and B&B icon. “I thank Mrs. Bell for co-creating my favourite daytime drama,” a fan posted. “During this difficult time, my thoughts are with those whose lives she touched. #RIPLeePhillipBell.”
Young And The Restless News – Bell Won The Daytime Emmy Award For Outstanding Series
During her storied career, Bell was the first female recipient of the Governors Award from the Chicago chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Bell also won the Daytime Emmy Award For Outstanding Drama Series for the Y&R in 1975. She was also honored with the Daytime Emmy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Bell is survived by her daughter Lauralee Bell, who plays Christine Williams on the Y&R, and sons William Bell and Bradley Bell, who is the Executive Producer of the B&B. The Soap Scoop sends its condolences to the family at this difficult time.
